GCP Cloud Engineer
Duration - 6 Month Initial Contract (potential for extension)
Location - Remote (MUST be a Colorado Resident)
Pay Rate - $65-70/Hour
Responsibilities:
Set up and deploy VPC environments and cloud instances in alignment with designs provided by the Cloud Architect to support hosted workloads.
Collaborate with the NetSecOps team to implement security controls that adhere to CISO policies and standards, leveraging templated and automated solutions whenever possible.
Assess and recommend new Google Cloud Platform (GCP) features and capabilities for potential adoption.
Manage cloud platform users, organizations, groups, and access permissions based on requirements outlined by the IAM team.
Develop monitoring and reporting tools to support effective management of the cloud platform.
Establish and document standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for utilizing IaaS (via IaC), PaaS, and SaaS on GCP.
Promote and advocate for the capabilities of the cloud platform to encourage widespread adoption.
Serve as a Tier-2 escalation point for on-call and break-fix scenarios, diagnosing and resolving issues with cloud-based systems.
Collaborate with NetSecOps to ensure network security policies are consistently implemented in a repeatable and automated manner.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in infrastructure development, with hands-on expertise in GCP foundation services.
5+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or similar tools.
Extensive expertise in cloud infrastructure solutions, including Windows and Linux IaaS, business continuity and disaster recovery, security, management, storage, networking, OSS, containers, and IaC technologies, with a strong ability to adapt to emerging technologies and cloud trends.
Proven experience with large-scale infrastructure deployments in enterprise-wide environments.
Hands-on experience with automated Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes.
Proficient scripting skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
